[mlpack] Inquiry about further information for GSoC

Dear mlpack developers,

I am a a senior University student willing to participate 2016 GSoC. Currently, I am working on RNN. I am familiar with Caffe and Torch7, and good at programming in C++(C++11, boost, CMake)/Matlab. Also, I have some web development experience in PHP and Python.

I want to choose Implement tree types or Parallel stochastic optimization methods or Essential Deep Learning Modules as my task. Please kindly tell me how many types of trees I should choose for Implement tree types and are there many competitors for the three ideas? And what is my chance to be selected?
