[mlpack] GSoc Project idea: adaboost implementation

Dear all,

I am Ankesh Kumar Thakur, senior undergraduate student of Indian Institute
of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur). I write this mail as to introduce
myself to the community.

Currently, I am pursuing Bioengineering and my research interest lies in
the field of computational biology and machine learning. As my final year
project, I am developing a bioinformatic server which featurea neural
network based algorithm for classifying amphipathic helices. In order to
classify helices I applied various leaning algorithm including SVMs,
One-class SVM, NN and found that neural network performs best.

To pursue my interest in ML, I audited a course on ML through coursera
(certificate available) and I am currently enrolled in a course on
"Mathematics for Machine Learning". I was always interested in the details
of the learning algorithms and its actual implementations. As I see this
project, I consider this as an opportunity to fulfill my curiosity and
serve to a wider community.

I have basic understanding of adaboost algorithm and I am willing to read
up more on this and relevant topics. Please let me know if I any other
information is required. I am looking forward to you.
