By all means my experimental posting of mlpack to Github has been a
success, with already over 250 stars and lots of people watching. The
post on Hackernews has brought a lot of attention too. And everyone who
I have talked to says it was a good idea. So maybe the question isn't
"is it a good idea?" but instead "why did you wait so long?" :)

That said, it's been a week and there have been no negative comments, so
I'll finalize this shortly. There are a couple more Github usernames I
am waiting on, and then I'll rewrite the repo metadata to fix those last
few usernames, transfer all the Trac tickets, and update the website.

I've also moved the mlpack repo to be a part of the mlpack organization:

  http://github.com/mlpack/mlpack/

(Want to be a member of the organization? Send me an email and I'll
make it happen.)

At Marcus' suggestion, I also created a repo for the mlpack website:

  http://github.com/mlpack/mlpack.org/

I'll send one more email to notify when all of this is done and mlpack
development has (officially and completely) moved to Github.

As a last note, if you've forked mlpack and suddenly find your
repository to be 10,000+ commits ahead and also 10,000+ commits behind,
that's my fault. It happens when I overwrite author metadata for
commits. Sorry about that. Once I finish overwriting author names it
shouldn't happen again.

Ryan
